Hillary Responds to Criticism for Crying in New Hampshire

Hillary Clinton has received both criticism and support for getting choked up in response to a question about “how she does it,” after her humiliating defeat in Iowa and getting smirked at by Fluffy in nationally aired debates. Some say the crack in her brittle facade was a calculated attempt to come off as more “human” by showing her vulnerable side. Others think she was honestly on the verge of tears, out of genuine, unfeigned self-pity.

Nobody has come right out and asked her, but speculation continues in the media, both within her own party and without. Apparently hoping that addressing the issue will put it to rest, she has finally deigned to respond in this remarkably candid audio clip.

I think that says it all.

  2. If you hate her then you assume the crying was deliberate and “calculated.” We are so quick to assume the worst. She’s still a human being, even if she is running for president.

  3. I don’t hate her, Wiggles, and I don’t think it was calculated. I believe she was crying out of genuine, unfeigned self-pity. But that’s not what I expect from the CIC of the world’s most powerful military.

  4. My apologies. I was speaking about “hate” in a general sense, not about you specifically. :)

Also, many people seem to “hate” Hillary. But my comment can also replace “hate” with “strong political disagreement” and I think my point remains valid.

I am convinced that the political leaning of the observer colors the perception of such events. The average person is more likely to assume nefarious motives when it involves someone from across the aisle.

  5. Let’s be clear then…the CIC of our military can’t ever cry, for any reason? Or is just any woman not fit to be CIC?

  6. Many great world leaders have cried. But, usually, when something affects them so deeply they cry in public, it’s a tragedy of great magnitude, like 9/11, that overwhelms them.

Great world leaders don’t get choked up out of self-pity. There’s a significant difference.

  7. Hillary wasn’t crying out of self-pity. She was choked up when she thought about America “falling behind”. She’s a woman…they cry sometimes. This whole argument of yours sounds suspicously like chauvinism to me IMO…

  8. Contrived for political gain.

She didn’t shed a tear over Monicagate, just attacked, knowing full well her husbands historic lustful penchant.

    Contrived, I tell you.

  9. Well said, Hill. I bow down before your psychic powers. Apparently only YOU can know with certainty the mind of another. (I hope you aren’t reading my mind right now.)

  10. PS, Hill. Thanks for proving my point.
